Chris Bones // Senior Fellow
Professor Chris Bones is Professor of Creativity and Leadership at the University of Manchester. He was Principal of Henley Management College from 2004-2008 and on merger with the University of Reading was appointed Dean of Henley Business School on 1 August 2008, holding this post until the end of 2010. Chris was previously Group Organisation Effectiveness and Development Director for Cadbury Schweppes taking responsibility for Executive Education and Development Culture, Communications, Change, Knowledge Management and Capability Development.
In his 22 years in business Chris has worked for Shell, Diageo (both in GrandMet and Guinness) and Cadbury Schweppes. He has significant international business experience and a reputation as a leading practitioner in executive education and development, change and HR strategy.
Chris was previously Chair of the Terrence Higgins Trust, Board member ‘Skills for Government, Independent Non Executive Director of the Agricultural and Horticultural Levy Board and Chair of the Global Supervisory Board for AIESEC, the world’s largest student-run organisation. He is currently a non-executive director of an organisation that delivers innovative women’s executive development programmes.
Chris has also advised the UK government from 2004-2015 on a range of topics, primarily around employee engagement, corporate governance and rewards and higher education.
Chris runs Good Growth – a fast growing digital professional services business which helps large organisations engage with and improve performance in digital channels.
He is author of ‘The Cult of the Leader’ and ‘Leading Digital Strategy’.
